Keep an eye on disk space -- both your own usage and the free space on the machine. Delete stuff you don't need (especially temp files and build debris).

If you need additional space in a filesystem and know how to use LVM safely, feel free to allocate additional space as needed, but do not assign more space than required for your work (it's easier to add space to a filesystem than to remove it to add it to another filesystem).
