Some Comments from David H.

Basically, I want to see a focus on client-side web dev, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript. I think students should leave that course knowing what the DOM is, knowing that they can style it, knowing that they can program it. I'd like to see them leave the course knowing a bit about a JS DOM library, likely jQuery (used on ~44% of all websites in the world, shipped in Visual Studio, etc.).

I don't expect them to be experts, but I want them to be non-hostile to the web, know that it's the future (Adobe just shut-down it's Mobile Flash team today to focus on HTML5, and Microsoft is going to announce the same next week about SilverLight). The idea that you build your apps on the server side and the client side is just for perl to print static HTML is dead.
