Minutes

  • This meeting will be at 1pm Toronto time weekly
  • Chris is doing good got the initial skeleton done. Anna to start skeleton for timeline and give Cristal to do a portion maybe a "method" or two so that she doesn't feel like she is starting from scratch
  • email Kev and Steven cc Scott and Dave and Brett and let them know they need to communicate with Scott and I. Contract with BBB is almost complete will ask them to see what "we" can say or not say.

(first deliverable on friday - reference page will be generated for easy access to whos doing what)

  • Project has a lot of potential. Student is building a way to apply effects to a video and have it happen in real time. Looking at 3D WebGL shader. Browser may be slow to this but working with Mozilla to file bugs is key. This process of filing bugs should be streamed lined. Right now Dave is a good resource of bug filling and getting mozilla's attention. We need to get a repo started and get a good structure going so that ppl can contribute
  • Dave gave Anna Kenneth's and Brian's email.
  • Agreed to switch lighthouse to the Silver account. Anna will get everything set up and email Brett when it is time for payment.
  • Brett has been talking to some people in San Francisco who want to make a popcorn page from their videos. Dave is thinking about giving this project to his students as part of their contribution mark. Brett will need to write down the requirements so that the students have an understanding of what needs to be done.
  • Gervase has some feedback on the project (popcorn-js) He believes that the way we do XML is not efficient and doesn't like the way we do twitter. We need to get XML masters involved in this discussion. Anna will initiate talks with Silvia who is a standards expert to see if she can guide us in the right direction. We need a clear direction on this before Bocoup gets started on butter.js in November
  • Brett wants students to re-do Gervase website-popcorn demo for Barcelona
  • Brian "the OK GO" guy was hired by Brett to clean up his code and maybe later merge it with candy.js
  • webmademovies.org needs to come out from drumbeat shadows and make a splash similar to the chrome experiment. Once all of the projects are demo-able we should think about making a bid demo showcasing all of them.
