As it relates to Cinecutie, '''all tracks are armed by default''', so if you are performing an operation for only one particular track (like adjusting audio levels, or truncation), '''you need to make certain that all the other tracks not to be affected are "unarmed"'''.

If you look on the left-hand side a video or audio track, you will notice some buttons. One of the buttons looks like a lock. By default, the lock is active (highlighted). If you click on the lock, you will notice it is not highlighted - this means that the track is "unarmed" and will not be affected by any other track edits...
