People brought up what happened to VA Linux Systems and how it's now VA Software. They acquired the OSTG (Open Source Technology Group) which in turn own SourceForge and Slashdot right now.

For the IRC exercise:

  • Pastebin - to copy in large sections of code and allow a short URL to connect other people it
  • TinyURL - to shorten long URLs into short ones
