Thanks for the input. Turns out my problem had nothing to do with this. it was due to: '''delete [] variable''' being in the wrong place
<hr/>I saw your code, I think there might be not correct in line 9. 'maxStrLength' is not Length of *Str (len of 'abc\0' is 4, but the size of str may be 10. when display the *str, the cursor will stay on the worny position. --hqiao3
