Speaker List

  • 1:00 pm - Chris Tyler will give an overview of the Raspberry Pi. Chris is currently a Professor at Seneca College, School of Information and Communications Technology. He is also the organizer of our Raspberry Pi Meetup group and is the Industrial Research Chair, Open Source Technology for Emerging Platforms at CDOT (Center for Development of Open source Technology) at Seneca.
  • 2:00 pm - Greg Blair will discuss programming on the Raspberry Pi. Greg is a Professor at Seneca College, School of Information and Communications Technology and has used a RPi for a NAS (Network Attached Storage) server, a pan-tilt-dolly-slide­r camera head for time lapse motion control photography, SDR (Software Defined Radio) and RPi camera real time threaded image processing.
  • 2:30 pm - Carson Kramer will talk about the Raspberry Pi as used in the Internet of Things (IoT). After many years in manufacturing and automation, Carson recently began programming for the Web, using the MEAN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, and Node.js) technoligies. He is now bringing some of that knowledge to the Raspberry Pi.
  • 3:00 pm - Stewart C. Russell is a former computer games journalist and a current hobby electronics nerd. He will be talking about emulating classic arcade, computer and console games on the Raspberry Pi with RetroPie.
  • 3:30 pm -John Selmys will demo his Dr. Who Raspberry Pi powered Dalek robot. This is an ongoing project started after John retired in June 2015 after a 32 year teaching career at Seneca college.
