OSTEP Team Meeting 2013-06-15

Equipment Reorganization

Phase I:

  • All Done - Thanks Oatley!
  • All Done - Yosemite disk imaging
  • All Done - Trimslice network setup
  • ToDo - Arndales need setup
  • --> Builders should be available: 2013-06-21 (oatley)

Future (For 2013-06-30):

  • Update Pidora builder chroot (oatley+fossjon+agreene) -> Update to ks-based environment
  • Document!
  • Upstream or figure out carry-forward plan for modified packages (for 2013-07-15)
  • Slides + Icon
  • All Done - Goal: ship NOOBS update by 4:30 today.

Pidora

ToDo

  • SOP page day?

Release status and feedback--

  • NOOBS update
    • Image for NOOBS distribution will be done this afternoon
    • Image for non-NOOBS distribution requires rootfs-resize update to handle extended partitions

Issue Tickets

  • /etc/hostname file conflict? overriding sysconfig value?
  • Legality of a pidora miniDLNA package? where can we include it?
  • Camera support testing

Building F18-updates, F19, Rawhide:

  • agreene is buildmaster
    • qt-webkit, gstreamer-bad-free, perl-crypt-ssl, and more!
  • start building by 2013-06-28

Infra Duties

  • Repo monitoring script and reporting
  • A pidora-team group email address so chris doesn't get all the complaints (place on pidora.ca)
  • Safe guarded sign/mash/rsync script for better automation and less manual user error
  • A main site to post updates or feedback or announcements? (pidora.ca site && #pidora channel)
    • Post this info to forums
    • Start a pidora mailing list?

Pidora blog--

  • Need 2 articles per person by EOW (2013-06-21)

Firmware/kernel updates

  • Perhaps update daily / automatically into updates-testing, and promote only periodically? (agreene for 2013-06-28)

Firstboot module changes -- jon

    • ex usage: _("This is some text")
    • check modules from upstream, add to our modules

Build Tags

  • All Done - Remove "candidate" from tag heirarchy for building (agreene w/ oatley for 2013-06-21)
  • All Done - Add %{rpfr} macros (agreene for 2013-06-21)
  • All Done - This will solve the %{dist} tag issues!

Optimizations

  • No longer mash the f18 repos (agreene by 2013-06-28)
  • No longer rsync the f18 repos (oatley by 2013-06-28)
  • Possible to optimize the signing? (oatley to check)

Openstack

  • x86_64 OpenStack setup (fossjon 2013-07-05)
    • All Done - Moving Iraq to room, set up as dashboard/controller/NAT
    • Al Done - Connected Australia to private lan switch
    • Need to resize lvm stuff to make room for snapshot on australia
    • Re-run packstack on iraq due to IP change
    • packstack from iraq to australia to set it up as a nova-compute
    • Australia as builder

Calxeda Hardware

  • Still ONE STINKIN' REFERENCE NUMBER AWAY FROM ORDERING!!!

Schedule

  • ctyler away: June 24-28, July 22-Aug 5
  • oatley and ctyler at Flock Aug 8-12
  • ctyler to find out about end-of-summer schedule
  • July 1 & Aug 5 are statutory holidays
  • oatley and agreene may take vacation in August
