Getting Started on Moodle

What is Moodle?

Moodle is an open-source Learning Management System (LMS). It provides a wide range of features which your professor can combine in various ways to provide resources for your course. These resources may include discussion boards, wikis, online quizzes and tests, resources, sample exercises, assignments, and your grades.

How do I log in to Moodle?

  1. Go to http://open.senecac.on.ca
  2. Enter your LDAP/Learn user ID in the Username field on the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Enter your password in the Password field:
    • If you have used Moodle before, in any course, enter your Moodle password.
    • If you have not used Moodle before, enter the temporary password "changeme".
  4. Click the Login button.
  5. If you have not used Moodle before, you will be asked to change the temporary password to a permanent one.

What if I forget my Moodle password?

Click on the Lost Password? link on the left-hand side of the page, and follow the instructions there. Your password will be mailed to your Learn account.

How do I go to my course in Moodle?

Immediately after login, you will see a list of available courses. Click on the course you want to access from this list.

Note: You may access guest content in some of the courses in which you are not enrolled.
