Fedora users and developers from around North America and beyond will gather to discuss and shape the next generation of open source technology.
Why attend FUDCon?
- Fedora is a friendly community that welcomes all kinds of participants and which rapidly advances the state of open source software. The community is based on four foundations:
- Freedom (dedication to free software and content)
- Friends (the value of community, consensus, and relationships)
- Features (commitment to excellence)
- First (innovation and advancing the state of open source).
- By getting involved in the Fedora community, you can contribute to a valuable project used by millions of people, while at the same time practicing your skills and learning new ones. Fedora is a huge project, with many ways to get involved.
- Are you a system administrator? You can help create tools, develop and improve processes, and maintain the infrastructure to build over 12000 software packages and distribute 24 petabytes of data each release, or help shape the way that Fedora works.
- Are you a programmer? There are millions of lines of code being maintained, integrated, packaged, and tested. There's opportunities both big and small, from fixing bugs to writing tests to creating new features, in a wide variety of programming languages.
- Are you just getting started with Fedora? There will be plenty of sessions -- especially on Saturday -- geared towards Fedora users, from beginner to advanced level.
- This is a great opportunity to meet and work with top open source developers face to face without expensive travel.
Pre-registration
Although everyone is welcome to attend FUDCon, the budget for the event limits the number of people who will receive lunches and attend the FUDPub. If you are a current Seneca college student, please follow these guidelines:
- If you are directly involved in the Fedora community as a contributor, please register for FUDCon on the Fedora wiki. Lunch will be provided and you are invited to attend the FUDPub event on Saturday evening. This includes SBR600 students, package maintainers and committee members, and people who have attended a previous FUDCon.
- If you are not directly involved with the Fedora community, but use Fedora or are interested in learning more about Fedora, please register for FUDCon by editing this page and adding your name to the table below. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will be able to provide lunch or invite you to FUDPub. However, you are welcome to participate in every other way: you are invited attend the technical sessions on Saturday and the hackfest sessions on Sunday and Monday, and to join the skating excursion on Sunday evening.

Seneca's annual Free Software and Open Source Symposium (FSOSS), held at the end of the Fall reading week (Sept 29-30 this year). Tip: FSOSS volunteers get in for for free.
