FYI, the '''Maudio Fasttrack Pro''' is a good usb interface and "works out of the box" (after a couple of Jack server settings)... There is also a cheaper version for approx $87 CDN, but lacks MIDI connection (which may not be a problem since newer MIDI musical keyboards are USB anyways...)
Since I want to keep things simple, I have decided to not use any USB peripheral (other than the USB midi musical keyboard), and connect the netbook audio output directly to the amplifier. '''This can be done with the use of a 1/8 " stereo (male) to 1/4 " mono RCA "Y-adapter(female)"''' which can be purchased from "The Source" or from certain "Dollar Stores- they are cheap".
'''Here is a link to the Y-adapter for reference:''' [ [http://www.radioshackramelectronics.comnet/productaudio-video/indexadapters/rca-to-1-8-3-5mm-adapters/35-586g/prod35586G.jsp?productId=2103237&CAWELAID=107596679# html y-adaptor] ]
(You can will also buy then need a short RCA (male) to 1/8 4 inch stereo extension jack (male) cable if you feel uncomfortable plugging . I prefer a long one so that it can reach the amplifier. You only really need to plug in one jack to the Yamplifier since it is Mono.<br />Below is a link to this product for reference: [ [http://www.zzounds.com/item-adapter directly into your net-book audio jack).HOSCPR20 RCA to 1/4 inch Jack Cable] ]
